Our Client was 26 when he decided to build a house on this remote island site, close to the family mussel farm and barge business.
For various reasons the footprint was limited to around 100 sqm, so I designed the house to have a minimal amount of circulation space and to be connected directly to the outside to increase the feeling of space.
4 sets of French Doors and glazing on the third external wall link the open plan living/dining/kitchen to a large decked area. Timber floor and deck surfaces emphasise the connection. One of the bedrooms also opens onto the deck. The rear boot/utility room opens onto a large covered deck where our client can leave his outdoor kit to dry off.
The upper floor is designed to give 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and office area in the future.
